My Story
Growing up in New England I was first captured by the beauty around me from a young age. My first camera was a bright pink rectangular 110 film camera that I bought at a yard sale for $1. A roll of film was pure gold, and each picture I took was carefully thought out so as not to waste a single shot! I’ll never forget the anticipation I had every time I waited for a roll of film to be developed.
It turned out to be no passing phase. My Grandfather who is an avid hobbyist photographer himself, let me count up his coin jar and buy my first digital camera when I was a teen, it was a small point and shoot Canon with a few manual settings and felt like such a luxury to be able to see my shots and play with editing programs in the computer.
Fast forward to graduation, my brother gifted me with a Canon EOS Rebel, my main cam for the next decade. The realization that I could make a real sustainable business out of my art came when I upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark iii, and I now shoot primarily with a 5D Mark iv.
Though my passion started in nature, animals and landscapes, I had always had my own style with portraiture, and it just took building my confidence to decide that was my favorite kind of photography. I’m an introvert and I prefer to be the one behind the lens!
